Our "Sea-Eagle" Logo
The logo for the Oceans '07 conference is a mythological "Sea-Eagle", rendered in the northern art style of B.C's First Nations. The "land" Eagle is highly regarded as the regal monarch of the skies. Fittingly, for Oceans '07, this undersea counterpart is distinguished by its colours; the blue and green of the oceans.

The artist, Dr. Phil Nuytten is of First Nations descent and was traditionally trained in totemic art. Nuytten is also widely known as a deep-diving technology inventor and developer.
